"George Sluppick puts a lot of funk into a medium tempo,
and recalls the kings of heavy foot: musicians like John Bonham
and Gregg Errico from Sly and the Family Stone, who drove
their bass-drum beats into your spine."
-- Ben Ratliff, New York Times
Hey y'all, thanks for stopping by my site and please take a minute to have a look around. I've been keeping really busy lately here in Memphis, on the road and in the studio, playing and recording with many great artists. My organ trio the City Champs, featuring Al Gamble and Joe Restivo, is gearing up for the release of our debut, The Safe Cracker, on Electraphonic Records. I’m still backing up the fantastic soul group, the Bo-Keys and it’s a gas! Recently, my good friend Brad Hodge did an interview/photo shoot with me for Honest Tune magazine, which I’m very excited about and it is available online here... So, be sure and check out the "gigs" page to find out where I'm gonna be and remember...git yer butt offa that couch, come see a show and support live music cause ’09 is gonna be a great year!
Much Love & Happy New Year Everybody,
